Secured Loan Help - Frequent Questions About Loans

We have a proven track record of getting our customers the loan and APR that suits them. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions to provide help when applying for a loan.

What amount could I borrow?

Depending on your personal circumstances, you could borrow any amount from £5,000 up to £100,000 to be repaid over any period between 5 and 25 years. That means we really can tailor a loan to your own particular needs, and make sure you have the right one for you. Our Loan Calculator may help you decide the loan and term that best fits your needs.

How can I use the money?

We have approved loans for customers needing money for anything and everything. Our most popular request is for debt consolidation, but we have also given loans to people for home improvements, new cars, holidays, weddings and many other purposes. Basically you can borrow the money you need for any reasonable purpose.

How much will my loan cost?

The monthly repayment will be dependant on the term and amount of loan you request. With the wide range of plans available there will be a solution that fits your budget and individual circumstances.

How long does it take to get my loan?

You will get a decision in principle either on the day you apply or at the latest within 24 hours, and in most cases your cash within 15 working days but on occasions this could take longer.

You'll be under no obligation, and no salesman will call. Our aim is to get you your money as quickly as possible and to this end you will be able to fax us a lot of the information required, but we will need some original documentation. The final approval of your loan rests with your lender. However, until the loan is finally paid out you should not enter into any agreements on the assumption that the loan will be completed.

Can you offer a scheme whereby my repayments can be made if I am ill or made redundant?

Yes, we offer an optional Life, Accident, Sickness and Redundancy package for your peace of mind. The Payment Protection section provides details of this valuable cover.

Am I able to obtain a loan if I am behind on my mortgage, have ccjs or a bad credit rating?

Having had difficulties in the past or even now, does not mean that you cannot obtain a loan. Our extensive range of plans covers all eventualities to help you reduce your current outgoings with an affordable loan. On cases with severe credit problems a fee of up to 10% may be charged depending on your circumstances although often this is not necessary. Once we have got you your loan and you have been able to resolve your credit problems our intention in the future will always be to get you back into a lower rate loan.

What if I want to settle the loan early?

The balance outstanding will be calculated and a rebate given on the outstanding interest in accordance with the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Changes were made on the 31 May 2005 where any loans under £25,000 completed after the 31/5/05 and settled early will be liable for 1 month interest. Some of our lenders offer different early settlement terms. This information will be provided once your application has been accepted by the appropriate lender.

Are fixed interest rates available?

On the majority of our loans we are able to offer interest rates fixed for up to five years (where the loan term is 90 months or longer).

What if I want to move house?

Simply pay the outstanding loan balance from the proceeds of the sale or alternatively we may be able to transfer the loan to your new property.

What if I want to borrow more in the future?

Simply telephone 0800 652 4224 and we will gladly supply you with a quotation for a further advance. This is a very quick process as we already hold your information on file

What if my circumstances change or if I have other questions?

As a customer of Loanline, you are never left without good advice. You can speak to our trained staff that draw on extensive experience of helping homeowners like yourself. So you may rely on prompt and sensitive help.

What if I have trouble meeting my repayments?

The best advice is not to ignore the problem. You should always contact the lender immediately if you know that you are going to have difficulties meeting your monthly payments. If you have taken payment protection cover you should check the policy for eligibility and then contact the lender to make a claim. The lenders will always be keen to help you resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

Is the application confidential?

Absolutely. Your loan application is treated in the strictest confidence. We will not contact your employers, bank or any other third party without your prior permission.
